This project involved transforming the layout and footprint of a residential property in Guildford through a combination of demolition, new construction and intelligent internal reconfiguration. The existing garage was removed to make way for a new side extension, built with a pitched roof and vaulted ceiling to create height and character. An electric Velux roof window was installed to maximise natural light.

To the rear, a flat-roof extension was constructed to remain in keeping with an existing extension added by the previous owners. Internally, the layout was completely reworked to make better use of the new footprint. The kitchen and dining area were relocated into the rear extension, creating a bright and functional open-plan space.

Additional rooms were formed to suit modern family living, including a dedicated home office, a new utility room, and a snug that also serves as a guest room. A glazed pocket door was installed to enhance light flow and maintain flexibility between spaces, while a generous living room was created as the central hub of the home.

The result is a significantly more versatile and contemporary layout, delivering both everyday comfort and long-term value.
